She is extremely sweet and loves attention, but she does take time to adjust to a new place and new people. She will be pretty shy at first and will just need someone to give her time. Once she does, she will follow you around purring after she finishes birdwatching! Good with other cats - best in a home without dogs or young children.

FIRST STEP TOWARD ADOPTION

FIRST STEP TOWARD ADOPTION

FIRST STEP TOWARD ADOPTION

An application must be filled out prior to adoption. This way we can review the information & make sure you are a good fit for the cat or kitten you choose.  Some cats don't like dogs / other cats / young children. We try to make sure they are a good match for you!

Our volunteers  will introduce you to our cats and kittens on site and share details about each one's health and behaviors to help you with your decision. They will be happy to answer any questions you have and provide you with advice to find all the resources you need to set up your home for your new friend.

We cover illness, not injury, so if kitty sprains a little paw, please call us for advice or take them to your vet.

Please complete adoption form and attach it below to the contact us form. We will contact you A.S.A.P.

The cost for an adult cat is $130 - all adult cats are spayed / neutered before adoption, as well as, flea treated, wormed, feline leukeimia / FIV tested, up to date on all vaccinations - which include FVRCP  & Rabies.

Should the adult cat have any medical issues within 5 - 7 days of adoption, we will "assist" them in treating but after that, it is up to the adopter to provide medical care for the cat.

At any time after adoption, if the cat does not work out or fit into the new household for any reason, we will take the cat back.

ADOPTION FOR ADULT CAT

The cost for a kitten is $150.

All kittens are flea treated (if needed), dewormed, given FVRCP & feline leukemia / FIV tested. If we have the mother, we will test the mother as opposed to all of the kittens, as her bones are fully developed. We test ALL of the kittens in a litter.

The cost of $150 (male or female) includes the spay / neuter at between 5 - 6 months at Mt. Pleasant Animal hospital. They will also get their rabies shot at this time.
$130 for cats already spayed/neutered

Services provided to complete your kitten adoption

SPAYING & NEUTERING OF KITTENS

We, nor our vet believe that a kitten should be spayed / neutered before 5 -6 months. They need the hormones to grow, plus it's too dangerous. Kittens need a total of 3 FVRCP vaccinations, once a  month for three months. Under our program, the cost of remaining vaccinations is covered  by Animal Keepers Rescue who can also provide you with more information about the long term benefits to your kittens health.

If your kitten should fall ill in any way before the spay / neuter date, this is covered under our plan. Kittens are fragile and upon moving into a new home, it may be a little colder or hotter and this sometimes causes an upper respiratory condition.  We do have antibiotics  available at no charge to make them well.

Appointments for spaying and neutering are scheduled once a month at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital. AKR works with Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital to provide your adoptive kitten to be spayed or neutered  at an affordable cost.

We cover illness, not injury, so if kitty sprains a little paw please call us for advice or your vet
